In December 2009, Soraya, an Iranian student at Edinburgh University, goes back to Tehran to see her family. She takes part in big anti-government demonstrations on the 27th December. That night, she doesn’t return home. Her family tries to find her. David, Soraya’s fiancé back in Edinburgh, has to deal with the agony of waiting for news. The film, inspired by real events, uses extracts of David’s email to Soraya, combined with footage of Edinburgh and Iran, to explore David’s complex emotional journey.
