On a bitter January day in 2011 one of the more unusual events in the sporting calendar took place – the UK Cold Water Swimming Championships. While not everyone's cup of tea the event appeals to an increasingly large group of people. The activity clearly causes the contestants a fair amount of pain. A day for hot tea, cake and eccentrics.
