The Lost Village
A piece of ‘being there’ filmmaking. The Lost Village immerses the viewer in the spectacles of veneration surrounding the Virgin Mary. The setting: an inhospitable place, immersed in the marsh sands ad surrounded by the quiet murmur of the woods. Every day the villagers devote themselves to the single purpose of protecting, watching over and worshiping the image of the Virgin. The Lost Village captures the tremendous network of sentiments and passions that converge in this singular relationship, forged generation after generation, that hovers somewhere on the margins between Christianity and
paganism.
