A family’s memory of itself, constructed using film footage shot by family members.
In 1960, Vaclav is an ace fighter pilot in the Czechoslovak army. His wife Tána is captivated by him and tolerates his demanding work, even accompanying him to the Soviet Union for training seminars.
Gradually, over the years, Vaclav’s drinking gets out of control. The couple grow apart, the marriage begins to disintegrate.
This film is part of the ‘Private Century’ series, a programme of films based on the forensic examination of family film archives.
