Mama, to life! (Mama, L’Chaim!)
The events of the Holocaust live on in the memories of the children and grandchildren of concentration camp survivors.
62-year-old Chaim Lubelski lives with his 95-year-old mother in a one-bedroom apartment in a Jewish residential home for the elderly. Chaim’s mother was born in Poland and survived the camps, though her parents and first husband all perished. Now, well aware of what she has suffered, and having already looked after his father during the last years of his life, Chaim has dedicated himself to giving his mother the 24 hour care she needs. Both lively, funny characters, we follow the pain and laughter of their everyday existence as, with faith and humour, they simply keep going, never giving up hope.
A touching and surprisingly joyful insight into the lives of these astonishing survivors.
