The Garden

The box office has now closed for this film.

From the ashes of the 1992 riots in LA, the South Central Farmers organisation emerged to create and nurture the nation’s largest urban farm.

In one of America’s most blighted neighbourhoods, the group – mostly immigrants from Latin America –  have miraculously created a 14 acre oasis, growing their own food, feeding their families and creating a vibrant community.

But a powerful property developer now wants to evict them and replace the garden with warehouses. Determined to preserve their urban Eden, they organise and fight back.

A film exposing the fault lines in American society, raising crucial questions about liberty, equality, the environment and asking the simple question: Do the poor get the same justice as the rich?
