Mentor Scheme
Since its inception the LIDF has been supportive of young and emerging talent. Where possible it has corresponded with filmmakers around the globe, or sat down with filmmakers here in London, to discuss their projects, view rough-cuts, and offer advice and practical guidance.
Each year we receive and review many, many films. Each year the festival provide a snapshot of the contemporary documentary scene, of its trends and practices. This wealth of knowledge, contacts and expertise, is a resource we feel can be of benefit to all filmmakers in the early stages of production or career.
For this reason the festival is launching a unique Mentor Scheme. The scheme will provide immediate consultancy benefits as well as long-term support and guidance. Those involved will be able to keep their projects visible on the LIDF web-site and will be invited to a Mentor Scheme get together at the festival where participants can present their proposals, work in progress, as well as mix and mingle with industry professionals. Films completed after involvement in the mentor scheme, at whatever level, will be screened at the LIDF.

Whether you have an idea, treatment, or even a rough cut the Mentor SchemeĀ will provide you with support and practical solutions for the development of your project plus a selection of indispensable resources tailored to your individual needs.
