RUTH KATZ

Ruth is a London-based documentary filmmaker and director of Present Films. Over the past decade Ruth has worked on short documentary films for a wide range of clients including small businesses, social enterprises, cultural institutions and private customers. She has developed a distinctly authentic style of storytelling that exposes the honest humanity of her subjects in a respectful, loyal and collaborative way.

Ruth founded and is director of Present Films, a production company that makes bespoke films for families and small business, using low-cost production methods that allow more people to commission and engage in filmmaking projects and share their often very personal stories.

Ruth’s films Keeping Time and Speaking Notes have received critical acclaim in the festivals worldwide.

Ruth currently teaches film studies at the Southbank International School and is a governor of Fitzjohn’s Primary School in London. She is a graduate of the London Film School and Queen Mary University, London.

CURRENT PROJECT

Present Films’ projects are ongoing. Ruth is also writing a play and working on a documentary on co-existence in the Rockefeller Archeology Museum in Jerusalem, Israel.
